Good photography requires a certain amount of detailed knowledge, and can be tough when you first get started. Play around with shutter speeds to determine which work best during what situations. A moment in time can be captured by a photograph, and then grouped with others to show an expansive time period. A fast shutter speed can stop a moving object in it’s tracks, while a slower speed allows you to blur motion a bit, such as water moving over a waterfall.

Don’t go overboard with complex camera settings. You should try to become knowledgeable about one part of a control, such as shutter speed or aperture, prior to moving on to the next one.
