Photography can be a great art form and a great way to get rid of the stress in your life. With so much of life only being seen once, being able to capture moments and then view them at a later time is a wonderful tool for reflection. A picture is, after all, worth about a thousand words.
Choose what will be in the picture. A good photograph will be a small window that shows one view of your subject. Don’t try to crowd too many things into the picture. If you want to give a more general impression of something, take a series of pictures, rather than a single photograph with no real focus or details.
Take a tip here to enhance your photographs! You need to experiment with shutter speeds. The shutter speed settings you will find on your camera are: P,M,A & S. Using the “P” setting will put your camera into program mode. This setting is fully automated and will set both the shutter speed and aperture for you. If you are less than professional, this is often the best setting.
Photography should be something that you enjoy doing. Your photos should be a capsule of a particular time and place in your life. You should be able to look at these photos and instantly remember where you were and what you were thinking when you shot them. When you enjoy taking photos, learning new photography skills is something you are likely to be excited about.
Move in closer to whatever subject you’re taking a picture of. It’s frustrating for the viewer to not clearly see the details of the subject because the camera was too far away. Move closer to give your shots vivid clarity.
You can move from area to area around the shot so you are able to find a more interesting shot. Try shooting the subject matter from above it, below it, to the right of it, to the left of it, etc.
The belief is that white is always a great clothing choice when getting their photograph taken, but this is actually opposite from the truth. Many cameras will auto-focus so that it can get a “reading” of every nuance and shade in the photograph’s range. This leaves white clothing looking too bright and washed out!
Read the manual that comes with your camera until you truly feel that you have a mastery for all the settings it has. Often times a manual is very long and drawn out. Most people throw manuals away without giving them a second look. Rather than getting rid of it, actually read it. It can enable you to take better photos, and it will also prevent you from making stupid mistakes.
Although not everyone enjoys taking photos, everyone enjoys admiring them. Photography allows you to capture and preserve your memories, some that might have been forgotten. There are few pastimes as uplifting and thrilling as photography. Sharing the photos you take is also a wonderful way to blow off some steam and take a break from life.
